This policy explains what Ruumble collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version. We collect what the app needs to show you people nearby and let you play: your profile, your photos, your approximate location, and how you use the app. We do not sell your data. You can export or delete everything from inside the app, and deletion is permanent.

1. Who we are
Ruumble is a dating app operated from Copenhagen, Denmark. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Ruumble is the data controller for the personal data described here.
For questions, data requests or complaints, open Ruumble and go to Settings > Help. Reaching us from inside the app identifies your account, which is what lets us act on a data request at all.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Account: phone number or Apple ID, depending on how you sign in.
- Profile: first name, date of birth, gender, who you want to meet, height, bio, prompt answers, interests, hometown and current city.
- Photos: the pictures you add to your profile, and a verification selfie if you choose to get verified.
- Content you create: game answers, chat messages, and Super DMs.
What the app generates
- Approximate location, used to show distance and find people near you.
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, games started and finished, when you were last active.
- A ranking score used to order your deck.
- Device and diagnostics: device type, app version, crash reports, and a push notification token if you allow notifications.
- Purchases: whether you have Gold or Boost credits. Card details go to Apple or Google, never to us.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time in the app or in your device settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened.
4. Location
Ruumble uses your location to show people near you and to display distance. We store an approximate point, not a precise track, and we never show your exact position to anyone.
If you turn on Crossed paths, and you and another person have been in the same area, the app can show that you crossed. In that case we store only the midpoint between you - never your address and never theirs. You can turn Crossed paths off in Settings at any time.
You can deny or revoke location access in your device settings. The app keeps working; the deck will tell you it needs location to find people near you.
5. Photos and verification
Your main profile photo must contain a face. That check runs on your device, and the result is what the app acts on.
Verification is optional. If you start it, you take a posed selfie, and our server compares it with your profile photos to confirm they are the same person. We store the outcome (approved or rejected) and the badge on your profile. The comparison is the only thing that selfie is used for.
Photos uploaded to Ruumble may be scanned automatically for adult, violent, or otherwise prohibited content, and removed if flagged.
6. Who we share with
We do not sell your personal data.
- Other users see your profile: your photos, name, age, distance, and anything you put in your bio, prompts and interests. They do not see your phone number, your email, or your exact location.
- Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd) hosts the app: database, authentication, file storage, notifications, crash reporting and analytics.
- Adapty handles subscription status for Gold.
- Apple and Google process payments and run the app stores.
- Authorities where we are legally required, or where it is necessary to protect someone from harm.
Some of these providers operate outside the EU. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is transferred under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
7. How long we keep it
- While your account is open: for as long as you use Ruumble.
- When you delete your account: your profile, photos, matches, games and messages are deleted. If you give a reason on the way out, we keep that short note to understand why people leave.
- Limited records may be kept longer where the law requires it, or to enforce a ban on someone who broke the rules.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent.
Most of this is immediate in the app: edit your profile in Edit profile, and delete everything under Settings > Danger zone > Delete account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
For anything else, use Settings > Help in the app. If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or the authority where you live.
9. Age limit
Ruumble is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We confirm your date of birth during signup, and we delete accounts we find belonging to anyone under 18.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
